jeff and tanya ~ married – denver wedding photography

Jeff and Tanya had an absolutely gorgeous day in Vail for their wedding.  We met them at the Vail Cascade Resort while they got ready, and it was a leisurely stroll down the Vail bike path to the Donovan Pavilion for the ceremony and reception.  Kudos to Tanya for making this happen!  I think several people tried to talk her out of walking all the way to the Pavilion with her bridesmaids, but she reeeeally wanted to do it!  We LOVE when couples are willing to throw some adventure into their wedding day!

If we were to conduct our own wedding contest, Jeff and Tanya would have our top vote in two categories:  ”Most Chill Couple”, and “Best Bridesmaid Shoes.”  We saw only the very slightest bit of nerves from both of them, and the whole wedding party was a really relaxed group of people that made our photographing so much fun.   Additionally, we must say that it is obvious and incredibly beautiful how these two are meant for each other.  Just being around them gives you goosebumps :)  We are so grateful to Mark & Whitney McGovern for introducing us!

Finally, we were so touched when Tanya’s dad, Tim, dedicated part of his toast to acknowledging and thanking all the vendors!  This was definitely a first for us, and it made us feel like part of the family.  Thanks so much, Tim ~

Congratulations Jeff and Tanya!  We had a great time with you on your wedding day; we hope you enjoy these images and the many more to come!  We wish you all the best in your marriage and life together.  Cheers! ~Dave & Lynn

Baby J.P. ~ 26 days old – denver children photography

Baby J.P. ~ I cannot tell how much I adored meeting you at just 26 days old ~ you are absolutely precious!  I could not get enough of your curly red hair, and your creamy skin is just like your parents.  You are a very, very special little boy :)  I spoke with your mom all about her experience of giving life to you ~ she has been so strong and caring, and your dad has been an incredible support.  You are blessed to have such wonderful, loving parents ~ I already know that you will be very well loved throughout your life.  How lucky you are!

Dustin & Jennifer ~ I loved meeting the three of you, and thank you so much for having me over to photograph and share in such an intimate time of your lives.  You can be so proud of all you have done… bringing such a beautiful, healthy boy into this world and giving him the love and tenderness that we all hope for.  You have a gorgeous family!

Jennifer and I spoke for a long time about birth and the weeks that follow afterwards.  It is such an incredible, intense, vivid time of life ~ one that will never be repeated in exactly the same way.  I remember the weeks after Lucca was born…. there was so much to learn!  He was learning, we were learning, and we were all growing as a family.  I doubted myself, I had incredible pride and wonderment for what my body had done, and my view of life literally changed forever.  Jennifer asked me if my photography and photo sessions had changed since giving birth to Lucca.  Ohhhhhhh….. yes.  I can say from the bottom of my heart, that I now understand.  I understand what it means to have such intense feelings of love, of wonder, of the need to protect and nurture, of healing, and of growth.  I approach my photo sessions of families with such reverence and openness now, in a way that I simply couldn’t do beforehand.

Our families are the most precious gift in this world.  It is my absolute honor and privilege to capture these moments ~ to all of our clients and friends….. thank you.

~ Lynn

I absolutely loved the canvas paintings in J.P.’s room and later found out that his mom, Jennifer, is the amazing artist!  Check out the samples below, and definitely let Jennifer know if you’d like to inquire about something for your own child’s room.  She can incorporate any theme, and her creativity is outstanding.  Here’s Jennifer’s email address: jenvoag@qwest.net

anders and katie ~ married!- denver wedding photography

We had the great pleasure of photographing the wedding of Anders and Katie last weekend.  It was fantastic to be shooting a wedding full of people with such great energy, and it was especially great to see such a bond between the two families!  It was as much fun to watch these two families come together as it was seeing Anders and Katie tie the knot.  Sometimes you see the families of the bride and groom just being cordial because their kids are getting married, but this was the exact opposite.  The two sets of parents seemed as though they had been best friends for years, and they even learned a little hip hop dance to perform at the reception…hilarious!  We want to thank Anders & Katie, as well as the Canino’s and Nelson’s for having us there to photograph, it was an honor….and a great time!!  Congratulations you two, we’ll see you when you get back from Mexico!  ~Dave & Lynn

carrie and ryan ~ married- denver wedding photography

Carrie and Ryan got married at Wild Basin Lodge near Estes Park, truly one of the most gorgeous wedding sites in Colorado…. complete with awesome mountain views, a meadow wedding site in addition to an outdoor amphitheater wedding site, a super friendly and accommodating staff, and lots of rustic charm.  They got ready at the Baldpate Inn just up the road, which has its share of character as well.  Most interesting is their keyroom: a room full of thousands of keys (in fact, the world’s largest collection!) of all shapes, sizes, and origins…hanging from the walls and ceiling.  You could spend hours in there perusing the collection.  Carrie & Ryan had a couple of cabins at the Baldpate to prep for the wedding, and then it was off to Wild Basin for the ceremony and reception.  Wild Basin is surrounded by amazing scenery, and as photographers, all we had to do was wave our cameras around snapping the shutter for amazing pictures. (Ok, it took a little more skill than that, but you get the idea.)

Congratulations Carrie and Ryan!!!
