The Hitched in the Highlands race was a huge success!  Congratulations to Tami Spierling and Greg Johnson for coming in first and winning the Grand Prize: a full wedding valued at over $20,000!  The event was beautifully organized and run by Happy Cakes Bakeshop and the Oyster Adventure Race series production team; thanks to all of you for putting on a great event!  Ten Denver-area couples engaged in an exhausting race, and they all spent the morning searching for clues and completing tasks in the Highlands neighborhoods.  Tami and Greg crossed the finish line in just over 2 hours, and it wasn’t until they had all their clue pieces confirmed that they realized they had actually won!

It was a pleasure to be there for raceday and photograph all the couples enduring what was a very challenging race.  Congratulations to all of you for participating and being fantastic competitors.  We hope everyone enjoyed the experience and went away with yet another bonding experience as an engaged couple!

This is the coolest idea yet for an engagement session!  We’re officially calling it David Lynn’s “Shoot The Date” session…..but credit goes to Ashley and David for the idea and picking up these very cool numbers (of their wedding date) from Etsy.  We had some great light that day, and Ashley and David were up for anything ~ we came away with some really cool stuff.  Check out a few favorites from our first “Shoot The Date” session; thanks Ashley & David!  We are SO excited for your wedding!

Tom and Kelly really wanted to shoot their engagement session near where they live in Grand Lake CO, and once we arrived at the site they had picked out, we could see why!  Tom had some great visions for their photo session, and the place they chose had it all…quaint country barn, tall grasses, cool river, mountains, and we scored some gorgeous Colorado weather.  Lynn and I were like kids in the eye candy shop shooting this session, but it was Tom and Kelly (and Karma the Dog) that really made it so much fun.  All we did was tell them to “be themselves” and they took care of the rest.

We are especially excited to shoot their wedding this weekend, since they are getting married at the same location where Lynn and I got married in 2006, Snow Mountain Ranch, CO. Not to mention the fact that this Thursday is our anniversary, and Tom & Kelly get married there on Saturday.  Perfect!

Kate & Danny are one of the sweetest, most genuine couples we have met, and we connected with them immediately. We had been looking forward to photographing them since that first meeting!   They are engaged to be married next year in Aspen, so we were psyched when they told us they wanted to do their engagement session this summer!  It was even better that they chose one of our favorite places to shoot….Wash Park.  We could go on and on about how much love they have for each other, what awesome energy they share, what an honor it is to be in the presence of their amazing chemistry…. but you can tell all of that just by looking at the images. Congratulations you guys!  Stay in touch, and we can’t wait for your wedding next year!

Congratulations to Derek and Karin!  We are so thrilled to be photographing your wedding in August, and the engagement session at Chautauqua Park was a blast.  We had a great time with you guys, and it really made us anticipate your wedding even more!  We’ve posted a few favorites from your session below, have a great time looking through these and the rest of your images.  We’ll be talking to you again soon!  ~Dave & Lynn
