We had the huge honor and privilege of spending a day with 11 children at the Children’s Hospital a few weeks ago.

We are so grateful to Flashes Of Hope for giving us this opportunity.   Please check out this phenomenal nonprofit ~ their mission is to help change the way that children with cancer see themselves through the gift of photography.  They aim to “help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it.”

Just being in the presence of these kids….helping to give them a short period of freedom & laughter was incredibly moving.  As I sit here, looking through these images, I have tears in my eyes.  These children are so beautiful, so strong, and so innocent.  I just wanted to lift each one of them up and give them a gigantic, heartfelt hug ~ to cry with them for all they have been through & all that they face, to give them words of encouragement and hope, and to tell them how truly, truly beautiful they are.

We are profoundly moved, and so grateful for Flashes of Hope.  Thank you to each one of the children and families that we photographed….. we hope your images bring you joy!  ~ Lynn

as told by my sister…

“Julie, go sit on the potty, it’s time for bed”. Julie sat on the potty while holding her white underpants in her hand. A few minutes later, after going and flushing the potty, her mother asked, “Julie, where are your underpants?” Silence. Eyes widen. The tears start. Julie points at the potty. “Did you flush your underpants down the potty?” Julie nods her head. “Did my underpants go out to sea!?!” screamed Julie with tears running down her face. Mother and father were confused as to handling the situation since this was their first “flushing”. They calmed her down and said that it would be okay, we have more underpants. Big sister came to the rescue with the question, “Do you think that the fish will wear your underpants?”. Giggles begin, tears fade away. Whew.

I think we’ve been asked “Where are some Lucca pictures?” more than any other question lately.  We feel a little embarrassed that we’re photographers and haven’t shared pictures of our own son lately, but thats the way it is with busy mom & dad photographers.  But at long last, here is a collection of some great pics (and scroll down for the video) capturing some of Lucca’s personality over the past few months. He’s definitely still our favorite subject!!

Piper, you are adorable!!!  We could have just played with you alllllll afternoon, staring into your gorgeous eyes and photographing your loveable cuteness!  Alas, you got hungry after a while (and so did we), so we were glad you decided that we should go and get some dinner.
